It was honestly one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. It was served warm, slightly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The best part was the white chocolate filling in the center super creamy and melted perfectly with every bite. The line was extremely long, but surprisingly it moved very fast. The service was efficient and well organized, so the wait wasn’t a problem at all.

Phenomenal cookie. Stopped by on a Friday morning to finally try “the best cookie in Amsterdam.” I got there about ten minutes before opening, and there were already 10–15 people in line. While waiting, I watched the bakers through the window. White aprons, trays of dough, golden decors, chocolate everywhere, and the whole scene felt straight out of one of those candy-factory montages from old movies. Once inside, the process was simple. They sell only one kind of cookie, so you just choose how many (up to two dozen per person) and whether you want them in a tin or a paper box. Since I was flying them home, I went for the tin, which seemed to be what most people did. The staff were incredibly kind. One of them even handed me the last warm cookie from the tray for free. The cookie was simple but a perfect mix of dark chocolate batter with a core of white valrhona chocolate. It had that deep roasty aroma that lingered without bitterness, and it wasn’t too sweet. I’ll admit, I’ll always measure cookies against the ones my mom baked when I was a kid, but this was the closest I’ve come to that memory of a “perfect chocolate cookie.” They even include reheating instructions, and sure enough, once I pan-warmed them back home, they somehow got even better. My only regret was not getting the full two dozen.

Worth the wait, worth the hype, just completely worth it! Van Stapele is legendary for their one offering - the worlds most delicious cookie! Dark chocolate with a white chocolate centre that melts when the cookies are hot and the cookies are both crunchy and chewy. There's a limit of 8 cookies per person and you can buy 1 cookie for €3 or a cardboard box of 6 cookies for €15. I got the keepsake tin with 6 cookies which cost me €20. The tin itself is absolutely beautiful and I'm happy to have brought it home with me. Sometimes, walking past Van Stapele the queue outside can look daunting but honestly, the staff are so quick at serving people that it doesn't take too long to get served and there's trays of fresh cookies being prepared constantly. The cookies stay fresh for up to 4 days and can be heated in an oven, or in some Tinfoil on a radiator. You can also freeze them for up to 1 month too, not that they'll last that long, I guarantee!!

Great cookie! Waited 10 minutes exactly to try the viral cookie stop that only serves one cookie flavor at all times. Great experience and affordable based on the cookie’s quality. Definitely worth the hype and would gladly wait 10 minutes again! The cookie was so soft and moist that it reminded me more of a brownie. Their texture and taste definitely made me happy that my wife and I got our own cookie! I can definitely see myself eating a ton of these if I didn’t have any impulse control!

As soon as you walk by the shop, the smell lures you in… The BEST cookies in Amsterdam, I purchased a tin of 6 (definitely worth the €€€’s) to take back home. The shop is stunning and you can watch the staff make the cookies whilst waiting in the line. The line is well managed and goes down quick due to no option of eating in-store! I’d recommend whilst visiting.

First, i thought van stapele was just Kind of a hype. Just a cookie. Now, finally, i have been there and tried one of the cookies. And it was incredible! The best cookie of my life. It is not "just a cookie" - it is the BEST cookie! Nice, warm... With White chocolate in it. The taste is just perfect! And the price with 3 Euro for 1 cookie is pretty good for amsterdam.

Believe the hype! I know there is often a line, but it moves fast and is 100% worth it. The signature Valrhona dark chocolate cookie with the warm, gooey white chocolate center is life-changing. Getting it fresh out of the oven is an experience I won't forget. It’s not a waffle, but a world-class cookie that melts in your mouth. A sweet perfection that was the tastiest bite of my entire trip!

These cookies were absolutely sensational and totally worth the hype. The wait was honestly worth it, they’re perfectly balanced and not overly sweet at all. Soft, rich, and genuinely some of the best cookies I’ve had. Would 100% go back.

We tried the Amsterdam cookies and had a really enjoyable experience. We waited in line for about half an hour, but the line moved fairly smoothly. We ordered a box of cookies, and they were very tasty. The white chocolate was melting and literally oozing out of the cookie, which was amazing. The staff were kind and friendly, and overall we really enjoyed the experience. One thing to note is that the cookies are very sweet, so I would recommend having plenty of water. Other than that, they were delicious and I would definitely recommend trying them.

Finally got my hands on the famous Van Stapele cookie! Honestly, I was a bit skeptical when I saw the massive queue wrapping around the corner, but I figured if that many people are willing to wait in the cold, it has to be worth it, right? I think I stood there for about 20 min, but the smell of warm chocolate wafting from the shop kept me going. The shop itself is tiny and super charming, and you can tell they just do one thing and do it perfectly. When I finally got my cookie, it was still warm. It’s this rich, dark chocolate dough with a big chunk of white chocolate melted in the middle. Is it worth the hype? Definitely. Is it worth the wait? If you have the patience, yes! It’s probably the best cookie I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy on the edges and gooey in the center. Pro tip: get a few, because one is definitely not enough once you start eating it!
